  A Work Visa in Nepal is a mandatory legal authorization issued by the  Department of Immigration (DOI)  to foreign nationals who intend to work in Nepal. The issuance of a work visa is strictly regulated and requires prior approval in the form of a Work Permit from the Department of Labor (DOL). Foreign nationals are prohibited from engaging in employment in Nepal without a valid work permit and work visa, except in limited statutory exemptions.
